PTA Global FAQs

Who do I contact for assistance with my PTAG account?

You can continue to call and email the same information as before. If you wish to reach a Support representative by phone, please call 1-800-460-6276 option 3. If you wish to send your inquiry by email, please direct it to: nasmcares@nasm.org.

How can I access my old PTAG course content?

Access to PTAG courses ended on April 5, 2021. For courses completed within the last 3 years, a record of completion will be available to you within your new NASM Student portal.

Will any of my PTAG history and course records transfer over?

For courses completed within the last 3 years, a record of completion will be available to you within your new NASM Student portal.

Will my PTAG certificate information remain the same?

Upon migration to the NASM credential platform, you will be issued a new Certificate ID for your existing credentials. To access this new digital certificate, you will need to log in to your member account at www.nasm.org.

My employer would like to verify my certificate is still valid, who do they call?

Certificate Verification can be completed directly on the NASM website at https://www.nasm.org/resources/validate-credentials. If the record they are looking for is not available for online validation, they can call 1-800-460-6276 option 3 or email nasmcares@nasm.org.

PTAG provided downloadable trainer resources, where can I find those?

Access to PTAG courses and the downloadable trainer resources ended on April 5, 2021. Resources related to recertification can be found here.

Now that PTAG is a part of NASM and AFAA, does this mean my PTAG certifications are no longer valid?

All existing PTA Global certifications will be recognized as valid, as long as all renewal requirements are met. Go here to learn more about how to recertify your PTA Global Certification.

Will my PTAG Lifetime renewal transfer over?

Yes. Your PTAG Lifetime renewal will be honored for all applicable certifications.

Will NASM still honor all of my continuing education completed through a PTAG Approved Provider?

Yes, any PTAG Approved Provider that was approved prior to the acquisition will be recognized for PTA Global CECs.

Does NASM offer insurance options for PTAG trainers?

NASM is pleased to be partnering with Next Insurance, Inc., a leading provider of personal trainer insurance products. Next gives you access to general and professional liability coverage designed specifically for those in the fitness industry. Along with great coverage offerings and competitive prices, you can also add unlimited “Additional Insureds” (e.g. your gym, client’s home, park, etc) and download Certificates of Insurance to demonstrate proof of insurance to your clients or gym. I completed courses through NASM, AFAA and/or PTAG; Do I need to include those documents with my renewal application?

The courses you complete with NASM, AFAA and/or PTAG are already listed in your account history. Simply list them on your renewal application.

I completed courses through NASM and/or AFAA. Will these automatically count towards my PTA Global CECs?

Yes, any NASM or AFAA course that you complete will be considered a pre-approved CEC and can be used towards your PTA Global recertification. The courses will need to be completed within your two year (+ 90 day grace) certification period.

I paid for the annual PTN membership; Will I get a refund for any remaining time?

As part of the merger, NASM has automatically enrolled you into the NASM Connected subscription for the remainder of your current PTN membership. The NASM Connected access will have an expiration date that aligns with your PTN annual renewal date. At that time, you will be prompted to extend the NASM Connected subscription by adding a payment method on file. If you do not wish to continue with the NASM Connected Subscription, no action is required and the access will expire.

I just paid my monthly dues for my PTN membership; Will I get a pro-rated refund due to the April 5th cut-off?

As part of the merger, NASM has automatically enrolled you into the NASM Connected subscription for the remainder of your current PTN membership. The NASM Connected access will have an expiration date that aligns with your PTN monthly renewal date. At that time, you will be prompted to enroll in the NASM Connected Annual subscription by adding a payment method on file. If you do not wish to continue with the NASM Connected Subscription, no action is required and the access will expire.

How can I access my old PTN account, CEC Courses and Workout Programs?

Access to your PTontheNet member account, including any CEC courses, Workout Programs and downloadable Trainer Resources ended on April 5, 2021.

Will any of my PTontheNet history and course records transfer over?

For courses completed within the last 3 years, a record of completion will be available to you within your NASM Connected Account.

Now that PTontheNet on the Net is a part of NASM, does this mean I will lose all my CECs?

All completed CECs and certificate of completions are still valid.

Does NASM Connected offer a Workout Builder Program?

All NASM Connected subscribers have access to features of the EDGE app. EDGE will allow you to manage unlimited clients, exercises, and workout programs within the web platform and on a mobile device.

Did PTontheNet on the Net share my personal credit card information?

No. As a part of this transition, NASM has provided you access to NASM Connected without requiring your credit card information to be added on file. At the point in which your original PTN membership is due to renew, we will notify you of your options to officially sign up for the NASM Connected subscription. At that point, you will be required to add a credit card on file for your recurring renewal.

I subscribed to the PTontheNet Elite Business bundle. Who do I contact regarding my DotFit benefits?
