With NASM's Home Gym Design Specialization, fitness professionals will be able to provide additional value to their clients by helping them reach their fitness goals through the preparation, planning, and installation of a home gym.

Fitness professionals will learn about the long-term benefits of a home gym, how to plan and manage the installation process, layout strategies, and ways to monetize design services. Home gyms are the future - become an expert gym designer with NASM.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for this course. However, it is recommended that candidates have a personal trainer certification or fitness specialization.

Exam Details

You have 365 days from your date of purchase to pass your exam. After completing the course, you will take a timed online exam consisting of 50 multiple-choice questions. The exam must be completed within 90 minutes. To pass the exam, you must achieve a minimum score of 70%; if you do not, you have up to three attempts to reach this requirement.

How long will I have to complete the course?

You will have one year from the day of enrollment to complete the course and take your exam.

Do I have to renew this qualification?

No, you do not need to renew your NASM Home Gym Design specialization. Once you pass your exam, your certificate never expires.

What if I do not pass the exam?

Don't worry! You'll have three attempts to pass the exam, and you can purchase additional retests by calling Member Services at 1-800-460-6276.

How many CEUs is the course worth and which organizations accept them?

NASM-HGD is approved for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) by the following organizations:

  • NASM: 0.7 CEUs

  • AFAA: 0.7 CEUs

How is the exam administered?

The exam is administered online within your customer portal. It consists of 50 multiple-choice questions and 90 minutes for completion. You must score a 70% or higher to pass and you will have three attempts.
