Pursuit of Excellence Award
NASM, in partnership with PennWest University, is excited to announce the Pursuit of Excellence Award for students aspiring to careers in health and fitness. Applications must be submitted by October 30, 2026.
About the Award:
Since 2003, NASM and PennWest have been at the forefront of delivering premier online exercise science degrees. This award is a testament to NASM's commitment to advancing the health and fitness industry through education.
Award Benefits:
The recipient of the Pursuit of Excellence Award will be granted a full scholarship, covering all 36 credits for a Master of Science in Exercise Science and Health Promotion at PennWest. The scholarship can be applied to any of the following specialized tracks:
- Wellness and Fitness
- Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention
- Rehabilitation Science
- Sports Psychology
- Wellness Coaching
- Advanced Golf Performance Training
- Nutrition
- Tactical Strength & Conditioning
- Applied Sport Science

Eligibility Requirements
- Applicant must have a cumulative overall GPA of at least 3.0 (based on a 4.0 maximum) for ALL undergraduate and graduate courses to date.
- Applicant must plan to enroll in a master’s degree program track at PennWest University for the January or March 2027 start-dates (award recipient will not be required to live in Pennsylvania – Program is 100% online).
- Applicant must confirm his/her intent to pursue a profession in the health and fitness industry as his/her primary means of livelihood.
- International students may be required to meet additional requirements.
