NASM, in partnership with PennWest University, is honored to present the Military Pursuit of Excellence Award, dedicated to U.S. Armed Forces members and veterans aspiring to a health and fitness career.

About the Award:

Since 2003, NASM and Penn West have joined forces to offer leading online exercise science degrees. We are committed to fostering growth and professionalism within the health and fitness sectors. The Pursuit of Excellence Award is a cornerstone of our educational initiatives.

Award Benefits:

The award winner will receive a full scholarship covering tuition for all 36 credits required for a Master of Science in Exercise Science and Health Promotion at Penn West. The scholarship can be applied to one of the following specialized tracks:

  • Wellness and Fitness
  • Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention
  • Rehabilitation Science
  • Sports Psychology
  • Wellness Coaching
  • Advanced Golf Performance Training
  • Nutrition
  • Tactical Strength & Conditioning
  • Applied Sport Science

All programs are delivered 100% online, providing flexibility for active duty and veteran service members to advance their education.

How do I apply for the Pursuit of Excellence Award?

Applications for the 2024 Pursuit of Excellence Award are now available - click HERE to access the application. Application submission deadline is  December 15th, 2024. Winner will be awarded in December 2024.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicant must have a cumulative overall GPA of at least 3.0 (based on a 4.0 maximum) for ALL undergraduate and graduate courses to date.
  • Applicants must enroll in a master’s program at PennWest for January or March 2025.
  • Be and active or retired member of the U.S. Armed Forces.
  • Applicant must confirm his/her intent to pursue a profession in the health and fitness industry as his/her primary means of livelihood.
  • International students may be required to meet additional requirements.
