CalU Post-Masters Certificates

NASM has also worked closely with CalU to collaboratively develop an exciting, relevant and practical post-graduate certificate program that is delivered 100% online. This highly successful program is designed for the busy professional who already possesses a Masters degree in a related degree area (Exercise Science, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, etc.). CalU students can complete a single certificate track by taking only four courses, while continuing their industry professions.


Fitness & Wellness Certificate. In response to great demand, this recently developed track is designed for the health and fitness professional, personal trainer, educator, military professional, coach, and others who want to learn about fitness training program design and wellness programs for the general population. Research and current issues in the fitness industry, as well as wellness programs, will be a focus of the courses. Students enrolled in this track are prepared to take the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer (NASM CPT) certification.

Performance Enhancement Certificate. This innovative track is designed for the health and fitness professional, personal trainer, educator, military professional, coach, and others who want to learn about performance and fitness training program design for athletes and other physically active people. Research and current issues in sport performance training and injury prevention will be a focus of the courses. Students enrolled in this track are prepared to take the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Performance Enhancement Specialist (NASM PES) certification.

Rehabilitation Science Certificate. This health care focused track is designed for the health and fitness professional that has a background in rehabilitation settings such as Athletic Training Rooms, Physical Therapy Clinics, Chiropractic Offices and other treatment settings. Research and current issues in musculoskeletal rehabilitation and biomechanical assessment will be a focus of the courses. Students enrolled in this track are prepared to take the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Corrective Exercise Specialist (NASM CES) certification.


Application Process for Post-Master Certificate Programs

NOTE: If you have already graduated from CalU in the Exercise Science program, you DO need to complete the online application, but DO NOT need to pay the application fee.

Step 1: Complete the online Graduate School application.
NOTE: On the application, Select Post-Master Certificate, and be sure to select ONE of the following track options:

  1. 0992 - Wellness and Fitness
  2. 0994 - Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention
  3. 0996 - Rehabilitation Sciences

Step 2: Submit a master's degree (graduate) transcript via fax to (724) 938-4342 AND an official graduate transcript via mail to:
